Friends of the Blue Hills member and volunteer Jim Lafond-Lewis was honored recently by Blue Hills Bank for being a “Hometown Hero.”  He received a $1,000 check for charity, and he selected Friends of the Blue Hills to receive the donation.  Jim  was one of 11 recipients of the award and will  be featured in a 2014 calendar of Hometown Heroes offered free of charge at any Blue Hills Bank branch.  Jim was chosen for this award for his work on Fowl Meadow, a sensitive wetland that has been designated as an “Area of Critical Environmental Concern” by the state of Massachusetts.
