Meet Blue Hills Wildlife from Noon – 1 pm

Hot cocoa & snacks for sale

Three DCR Ranger-led Hikes start at 1 pm

Join the tradition and celebrate New Year’s Day in the Blue Hills. From noon to 1 pm, visit with live wildlife from the Trailside Museum, purchase a cup of hot cocoa or a snack from the Venture Scouts, and share some holiday cheer by the fire. Then stretch your legs on one of three easy to moderate guided hikes which all depart at 1 pm. Meet at the Houghton’s Pond main parking lot at 840 Hillside Street in Milton. Please arrive early. This is a very popular event and parking is limited.

Members Only Boots 'n' Brews @ Ponapoag Pond

Join the Friends of the Blue Hills for a “Members Only Hiking Boots and Brews” event! If you would like to explore the Blue Hills Reservation, meet new people, and sample some delicious beers, please join us! After a 2 hour hike around Ponkapoag Pond, hikers who are 21 years and older will have the opportunity to visit a nearby brewery to enjoy some cold ones. Beer may be purchased at the brewery.

This is a free event for our members. If you are interested in becoming a member, more information can be found here.

Heavy rain cancels. Traction cleats or snowshoes may be recommended depending on trail conditions.

Join the Friends of the Blue Hills and the Blue Hills Ski Area for an evening of winter fun at Winter Fest!
 
Come for a night hike or get your exercise on the slopes downhill skiing. Whether or not you choose the outdoor activities, there is plenty of inside fun too: you can tap your feet to the spirited Irish tunes of Songs for Ceilidh, taste chili from some of the best local restaurants, purchase some of Trillium Brewing Company’s latest concoctions, entertain the kids with crafts, and warm up in front of a blazing fire while enjoying the company of old and new friends.
 
Blue Hills Ski Area will be offering discounted ski tickets for the night. If you are planning to ski, print the homepage of our website or the FBH Facebook page and bring it to the event.
