Special 40th Anniversary Celebration!
Thursday, October 3, 7:00 – 9:00 pm – Canton Town Club, 300 Bailey Street, Canton
Help us mark this special 40th Anniversary by joining us at our Annual Celebration on Thursday, October 3. We will celebrate the Blue Hills, our members and friends, and everything we have accomplished together over the past 40 years!
Our Keynote Speaker will be New York Times Best-Selling Author Tom Ryan, whose book Following Atticus: Forty-Eight High Peaks, One Little Dog, and an Extraordinary Friendship tells the heart-warming story of this newspaper reporter and his relationship with his beloved dog Atticus M. Finch as they hike the mountains of New Hampshire together. You will also be able to purchase signed copies of the book at the event, thanks to an Unlikely Story Bookstore and Cafe of Plainville.
Enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, silent auction and much more! Tickets are $35 each if purchased by September 30 and $40 each at the door.
2019 Honorees This year, as part of our 40th-anniversary celebration, we will be acknowledging, with a ‘Legacy Award,’ those partners and individuals who have made a significant impact on the organization over the years. We are also celebrating our community partners who have been working to improve the Blue Hills and our natural environment.

For this month’s trail maintenance event, we are partnering with NepRWA to clean up the brook at Ponkapoag! We will still meet at Houghton’s Pond main parking lot… and then we will carpool to the work site, don waders and clean up the brook habitat by removing golf balls. We may also have some options for trail maintenance that day. Questions? Email info@FriendsoftheBlueHills.org.
In case of inclement weather, we will cancel, so please sign up for trail maintenance alerts at the bottom of our trail maintenance page. Be sure to stay after for a pizza lunch!
Calling all parents and tots! Join the Friends of the Blue Hills for a new season of Peek-a-Blue Hikes for parents and tots. Complimentary water, juice and snacks too.
