Join the DCR and the New England Mountain Bike Association for a holiday toy drive collection. Bring a new unwrapped toy, then go on a guided or self-guided mountain bike ride or hike. All toys will be donated to Interfaith Social Services which help families in need during the holidays. Gifts for children ages 11-16 are most needed and appreciated. Their expert staff will cover topics like lighting, composition, digital zoom, resolution, editing, and stabilizing your shot. Because the best camera to use is the one that you always have on you – your phone!
Are you tired of sitting on the couch? Grab the kids and get out! Join a DCR Park interpreter for some fun under the winter sun. We’ll take a 1.5 mile trek and play some winter games along the way. Dress in warm layers and boots. Don’t forget hats and mittens too. For ages 8 and up. 1.5 hours
Bats in the Blue Hills
Friday, July 12, 7:30 pm- 9 pm
Bats, our only flying mammals, are truly remarkable and often misunderstood animals. Bats are very beneficial and can eat up to 600 insects an hour. Join the DCR for an evening of bat appreciation as we learn more about these amazing creatures in an indoor lecture then head outside to look and listen for a few of these flying wonders.
