2024-03-08 | Paul McPartland | Barberry Bush Spring Trail | 1 | Walked the trail - it was in good shape - just removed some minor debris. The top was flooded as in often the case in winter but the new spur route around it worked fine. | On Laurel Path, just north of its intersection with the bottom of Barberry Bush Spring Trail, a large tree is down over the path, about 16" in diameter before it splits into two 10-12" forks. It can be walked around but will need a chain saw for removal.
2024-03-13 | Charlie Crosby | Skyline Trail | 2 | Raked out drainages near Pipe Line. Cut and removed a med-large blowdown west of #3065.
2024-03-13 | Charlie Crosby | Thayer Path (FBH) | 1.5 | Raked out drainages Raked/cleaned stairs near #3075
2024-03-25 | Charlie Crosby | Bouncing Brook Path | 1.5 | Cleaned out drainage ditch between my adopted trails, Skyline and Carve Path, as they had both filled in the ditch. | Might come back with a better tool
2024-03-25 | Charlie Crosby | Skyline Trail | 0.75 | Additional cleanout of drainages near Pipeline.
2024-03-25 | Charlie Crosby | Braintree Pass Path | 0.75 | Trail was flooding near #3022, so raked out leaves from drainage. Flooding resolved. Raked out a couple more water bars on the way to #3042. | There is a blocked culvert and the trail is flooding just before you get to #3042. Cannot see the inlet, so not sure where the blockage is.
2024-04-13 | Joseph Nelson | Ridge Path | 4 | We walked the length of Ridge Path on the Chickatawabut side of the reservation. We brushed and raked leaves as we went along the trail. There were multiple branches and sticks in the trail. We flung those into the forest as we went along. At the start of the trail, we built a rudimentary drainage structure to divert water off the trail. We looped branches from a downed tree on the edge of the trail. We continued clearing pooled leaves as we hiked up the trail. Towards the end of the trail, we cleared the leaves from a stream running directly alongside Ridge Path. Said leaves risked creating a dam that would pool water. Said pooling would risk flooding onto the trail. | William Nelson | Improve the drainage structure at the start of the trail. Bring a saw to clear a downed tree right on the very edge of the trail. We may need to look into dealing with the stream on the edge of the trail. It is just barely lower than the trail and is only held back in some areas by a slight incline at the edge of the trail. | There may be a natural spring on the trail. We could not determine the location of some water flow on the trail. |
