2024-02-09 | Bob Vogel | Indian Path | 15.5 | 9:45 - 3:55. It took 5 hours to cut our way noth along the 1 mile trail. Too many trees down to count. (Most (cut and still to be cut) recorded in DCR Caltopo sheet, until my phone died.) There were two big tree tops completely blocking the t rail. Each took about 1/2 hour to clear. Plus many other trees cut, and much brushing of cmall stuff growing into, falling into, the trail. | John Schepis, Larry Petrone. | There are sill many trees less than 12" dismater that could be cut with a hand saw, but all are step over, or at least sit and swing your leg over. There are also many 16" to 28: trees that require a chain saw. There is also, expecially on the northern half, where we were running out of time and energy, many, many more things that could be cleared. (Brush growing into trail, vines. So many vines! Greenbrier, 'rose' kinka stuff, 'grapevine' kind of stull, and of course some poison ivy too. | This is, when the water is low enough to hike it, and the overgrowth is cleared, one of the nicest trails in the Blue Hills. The only one along a river. |
2024-03-19 | Charlie Crosby | Burma Road | 2 | Removed Multiflora Rose about 0.5 miles from the trail start using loppers and the weed wrench. Picked up 1/2 bag of trash and left it at the DCR sign. |
