2024-01-04 | Shubha Chungi | Pine Tree Brook Path | 1 | Inspected the trail for the blowdown and debris. Removed a blowdown on the trail | Ruth Bigio
2024-01-30 | Jen Brodbeck | Quarries Foot Path | 1.5 | Walked from home to Riccuitti Drive, (since I cannot access the Reservation from St. Moritz due to flooding) and accessed the Quarries Foot Path through the new trailhead at Riccuiti Drive. The trail is blocked by fallen trees and noted such on DCR’s app. Berry’s quarry is also overflowing preventing access to another part of Quarries Foot Path. I checked the areas, that I could access, that were previously set on fire and I checked the kids party spot which has been cleaned up since my last visit. Inside an area, I found burned last February (Lt. Bender was notified at the time) I found a tent and its footprint. I sent pictures of the tent and footprint to Lt. Bender (DCR) and noted such on DCR’s app. Unable to access the double gates at Riccuiti Drive due to flooding from Berry’s quarry I exited through Bunker Hill Lane. It is not possible, at this time, for me to do much on this trail due to my inability to access most of it. I have been told flooding at St. Moritz should be addressed starting tomorrow. | Flooding issues have to be addressed first before any remaining work can be attempted. | I didn’t see any signs of new burnings although the location of the tent is suspicious. Once flooding recedes I will recheck area and access all other areas.
2024-02-01 | Jen Brodbeck | Skyline Trail | 0.5 | Checked area for new fallen trees which there are several and marked them on DCR’s app. | Photographed signs of Beaver damage at the culvert between the ponds.
2024-02-06 | Jennifer Brodbeck | Firepit Path | 1 | After being told by DCR that the trails in St. Moritz were now passable, I went to clean up the mound of sticks people had thrown in the trail. The sticks were frozen to the mud so I could only move a few but upon getting in between the ponds I immediately noticed significant beaver damage to trees around the south pond. Pictures were taken and sent to DCR in case this has anything to do with the flooding of St. Moritz. | There is significant beaver damage to large Pine trees along the fire pit path and along the skyline trail in between the ponds.
2024-04-26 | Charlie Crosby | CCC Trail | 8 | Pulled, bagged, and removed 4 large bags of Garlic Mustard | Ruth Bigio, John Laidler, Maura Laidler |
