The Eliot Tower and Pavilion is currently closed to visitors.
No public access in the building is allowed during construction, planned through 2023.
The Department of Conservation and Recreation is restoring the Eliot Tower to protect the structure from water infiltration and improve its accessibility. The project is the first comprehensive rehabilitation of the tower since it was completed in the late 1930s. Improvements include repointing all stones, dismantling & rebuilding the chimney, adding exterior handrails, making the interior handrails compliant with code, removing a storage room not original to the building, constructing an accessible ramp in the pavilion, and resurfacing the pavilion floor.
Please obey posted safety signage.
Use caution on the roadway and around construction areas.

When will the work be completed and reopened?
Great question! The contractors have until the end of the year, but they hope to finish in the fall.
