Thank You to Our 2024 Honorees

The Blue Hills Hiking Club (BHHC) is the most active hiking club in the Blue Hills. Now over 6,600 members strong, the BHHC is blessed with an incredible cadre of experienced, talented and dedicated hike leaders who provide nearly daily hikes and at times multiple hikes on same day to meet varying abilities and interests. The Club prides itself on building and reinforcing a strong respect for the Hills and safety of all while providing a pleasant and healthy experience for our members.

Steve Valero, aka Wabbit, is the organizer of the BHHC. He retired as a public interest lawyer after decades of representing low income tenants and homeless families. For about ten years he has worked as a certified personal trainer, AMC hike leader, and is of course, an avid hiker.
