Thank you for making calls to your Representatives in support of budget amendments to support DCR, the state agency that manages the Blue Hills and all our state parks. You’re calls paid off!
We are grateful to all the legislators who sponsored and co-sponsored these amendments, including Rep Bruce Ayers, Rep William Galvin, Rep Walter Timilty and Rep Claire Cronin.   Thanks to your calls, a number of Representatives signed on as co-sponsors to the amendment. The approximate current number of co-sponsors are:Â
-
DCR Seasonal Staff (34)
-
DCR Parks & Rec (29)
-
DEP Admin (15)
THANK YOU for reaching out to your representatives! Legislators can still sign on as co-sponsors after today until the budget is debated in late April, but it was necessary to do a big push for today, because co-sponsors who signed on before today’s deadline will have their names on the amendment when the amendments are published online next week. And the more co-sponsors there are for a given amendment, the more support it indicates.
Thanks to the Environmental League of Massachusetts for working with us and other environmental groups throughout the state to make sure these agencies have adequate funds. See the action alert for background on the amendments.
