Team Up with Friends of the Blue Hills to Green Up the Blue Hills!
You are invited to join the Friends of the Blue Hills for a spring festival of stewardship and fun. The annual Green Up will be held on Sunday, May 31, from 1 p.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Ponkapoag AMC Cabins. You will enjoy music, face painting, crafts and a scavenger hunt while helping with an essential task: pulling up invasive weeds that threaten the Blue Hills. You can park at Temple Beth David, 1060 Randolph Street, Canton.  It is a short, scenic walk from the parking lot to the cabins. The event is rain or shine, and while some gloves will be available for weeding, please bring their own gardening gloves if you have them! Please RSVP to Anne Comber at Greenup@FriendsoftheBlueHills.org or 617-696-8248.
We regret to inform you that due to the thundershowers, Venture Crew 424 must withdraw from this event. Many of our members found that it would be a bit of a downer, and the interest level dropped significantly, to the point where only a handful were willing to attend. On behalf of our crew, I apologize for the inconveniece, especially for the short notice. I hope that we can help out with some event in the future. What you do is important, so thank you for your service.
David, I totally understand. Sorry you couldn’t join us. Turns out that the rain held off! (But always best to use your judgment!) If you’re still interested in doing community service in the Blue Hills, just let us know!
Hello! I’m a member of Venture Crew 424 in Marshfield, Massachusetts. In case you are uninformed, Venturing is a co-ed program run by the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women ages 14-21. We have no less than eight but up to eleven people interested in helping out on Sunday.
David,
We look forward to seeing you and your group! Thanks so much for giving back to the Blue Hills!
Judy
