Project Bird Box Israel Presented by Dr. Motti Charter
Tuesday, March 11, 7:15-8:30
Blue Hills Trailside Museum
1904 Canton Ave, Milton
Join award winning scientist Dr Motti Charter from Tel Aviv Israel  to learn about a unique program which uses barn owls instead of poison to control rodents.  Project Bird Box, which is supported by the University of Haifa and Israel’s Society for the Protection of Nature, has assisted in the placement of nearly 3,000 barn owl nesting boxes in seven regions in cooperation with three governmental ministries and private funds. An important goal of the project is to raise public awareness about the usefulness of raptors and the benefits that humans can derive from environmentally friendly agricultural practices. After the presentation, you’ll get a close-up look at the Trailside’s resident barn owl. Admission is free.Â
