You can maintain the trails both Saturday AND Sunday this weekend! Join FBH on Saturday at 9 at Houghton’s — or NEMBA on Sunday! Let your schedule — or taste buds choose!  (Pizza on Saturday and BBQ on Sunday!  Two great options!)

Friends of the Blue Hills Trail Maintenance Event
Saturday, Nov 5th,  9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Join the Friends of the Blue Hills to help clear the trails!  We will show you how to dig the dirt and move rocks to keep the water off the trails.  You could also cut branches that block the paths.  No experience necessary.  Events run about four hours, followed by a hearty lunch.  Wear sturdy boots, long pants and work gloves.  We suggest you bring at least one quart of water.  You may also want to consider bringing sunscreen and bug spray.  Meet us at 9 am at the Houghton’s Pond main parking lot on Hillside Street in Milton.  Questions?  Email trailwork@FriendsoftheBlueHills.org.  We would love to work with your youth or corporate group. Please contact us at trailwork@FriendsoftheBlueHills.org.

Buck Hill Trail Reroute (Organized by NEMBA)
SUNDAY, November 6, 8:00am – 3:00pm (Don’t forget Daylight Saving Time!)
Meet: Houghton’s Pond parking lot at 840 Hillside St. Milton

We need ALL HANDS ON DECK for this one!  Be a part of Blue Hills’ history! Join us to build another trail down Buck Hill to complete the loop experience.  At the same time, we are adding a trail where there is a ‘no-bikes’ sign now.  The more help we get the quicker we will complete and ride same day!  Come for the whole day, or any part of it.   A BBQ lunch will be provided.  This event is organized by the New England Bike Association (NEMBA).  We encourage everyone to join this effort!
