Loretta Fillios loved hiking in the Blue Hills and other reservations in the area. It was Loretta’s way of helping to cope with the stresses of today’s society. Loretta was a regular hiker with the Blue Hills Hiking Club (BHHC), a club she loved. She drove from her home in Chelsea several times each week to enjoy the camaraderie of her fellow hikers, the beauty of the Blue Hills, and the exercise provided by hiking the extensive trail network. It was a joy for Loretta to leave her densely populated city and enjoy the natural beauty of the Blue Hills. She also loved the BHHC’s annual cookout and other events. She was justifiably proud of her Greek heritage and took great pleasure sharing with her many hiking friends culinary delights at these gatherings.

     Her many hiking friends were very saddened at Loretta’s premature passing. Her gentle, kind, and generous spirit are greatly missed by all. Her generous bequest to the BHHC and Friends of the Blue Hills is greatly appreciated. These funds will be wisely used to benefit those things she held so precious.
