This hike will be meeting at Shea Rink, 651 Willard St, Quincy, MA 02169 at 9:00am Sharp

On this hike you will pass through the old St Moritz Winter Carnival. Kay will have some insight on the history other resources to provide to you. This trail has light rolling hills and water features.  There will be a light review of the history with a focus on our beautiful woodsy trail.

  • If you have hiking poles, please bring them.
  • Sturdy walking shoes required.
  • Inclement weather will cancel.
  • Bring at least 1 liter of water and a snack.
  • No children under 12 and no pets, please.

We start as a group and end as a group; nobody is left behind.

Commitment: Please do not sign up unless you are certain you can attend, as spaces are limited.

Pace and Duration: This 3-4 mile hike is designed to be steady patient hiking pace with stopping allowed. Expect to spend about 2 hours exploring the trails, with plenty of time to appreciate the scenery.

Take a look at the change in the natural beauty and the regrowth since the fires of 2022. Kay has been hiking here since and can show you some of the change and history of the fire.

Let’s go for a hike”

About the Experience
Matt and John (A FBH Staff Member) will guide you on a scenic hike while sharing expert photography tips and techniques. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, this is a great opportunity to learn from a pro in a fun, relaxed environment.

Start & Finish at Widowmaker Brewery
We’ll kick off and wrap up our adventure at Widowmaker Brewery, so you’ll have the chance to enjoy one of their delicious craft beers afterward.

This hike will be meeting at the Donovan School, 123 Reed St, Randolph, MA 02368, at 9:00am Sharp

The Blue Hills are rich with natural resources.  Starting at the Donovan School upper parking lot (left of the school) watch your feet as we pass through an area used often by local horseback riders.  We’ll cross the horse bridge to explore the East side of Ponkapoag and take a look at some of the natural resources along the way.
