| 11/16/2018 | Noel Keady | Neponset | Field Path | Myself and several of our volunteers walked Orchard Path, Swamp Trail, and Field Path which was currently under construction. As there was snow on and ground, we used this day mostly as a way to familiarize several of our volunteers with the area for future projects in the area. We spent most of our time walking the trail. We stopped to remove Asian Bittersweet but were unable to pull up roots due to the ground being pretty solid/frozen. We also cleared some fallen branches from the trail itself including a rather large branch that had rested across the path a tad bit above head height. Ideal widowmaker removed. | There is a lot of asian bittersweet in the area (where isn't it these days?). Our hope to return in warmer months to pull many of these plants up by their roots and help clear brush and debris from trails in this general area. |
