Head for the Hills for the Grand Daddy of First Day Hikes!
Are you looking to get out to stretch your legs on New Year’s Day? Join DCR Staff for a First Day Hike through the Blue Hills Reservation.
Starting at 11 am, meet Blue Hills Trailside live wildlife at Houghton’s Pond with the Mass Audubon staff, purchase a cup of hot cocoa and a snack from the Quincy Venture Scouts and share some New Year’s cheer. Please consider bringing a nonperishable food item for Interfaith Social Services.
Starting at 12 pm, DCR staff will lead two easy to moderate hikes for a 1-hour or 1.5-hour trek in the great outdoors. There will also one self-guided option. Choose the hike to suit your interest and ability. Dress warmly and wear sturdy hiking boots for all hikes.
