Beginner Winter Hike
11:00 am to about 1:00 pm
Meet: Houghton’s Pond main parking lot
840 Hillside Street, Milton
Beginner hikers welcome! Join the Friends of the Blue Hills on a mostly flat, 4-mile hike on the yellow triangle path on the north side of Hillside Street.
Trails are mostly level, but depending on the weather, may be slippery. If there is snow or ice, please wear microspikes on your shoes (available online or at sporting stores).
You must be comfortable walking a comparable distance. Be prepared to step over tree roots and some rocks. Sturdy walking shoes required. Dress in layers for the weather. Inclement weather will cancel. Group size will be limited to 25. Bring at least 1 liter of water and a snack. We start as a group and end as a group; nobody is left behind. No children under 12 and no pets, please.
I’d love to join in on this hike. I hiked with the adult BH walking group when they were ranger led and I’d love to start up again
