DCR Ponkapoag Pond Master Plan
Public Information Meeting
Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023 at 6:00pm-7:30pm
At this remotely held public meeting, the DCR project team will present the final design for the Ponkapoag Pond master plan. DCR’s plan for Ponkapoag Pond will protect and restore the ecologically sensitive landscape as we create an accessible and sustainable outdoor destination – featuring hiking, boating, horse riding, and cross-country skiing – that provides an opportunity to educate park users about the rich and diverse ecology of the ACEC.
If you need assistance when registering, please contact Daniel.Cushing@mass.gov. During the meeting, the public will be invited to ask questions on the design, using the raise hand and chat functionality that will be available through the virtual participation platform.
members of the public, please come to let DCR know that people care about using the beach at Fisherman’s Cove and getting there from Randolph!
See numerous comments I’ve made on this subject at previous sessions at http://www.jessegordon.com/BlueHills/ — if we push hard enough, right now, DCR might actually let the people of Randolph use the State Park!
My two Children & I have been camping at AMC Ponkapoag for 40 years & wonder what effects this plan will have on our little csmp. The fragile pine slopes may no longer even exist with too much traffic ~ & too much traffic is not a lot. Cross country skiing & snow shoeing would be most destructive for certain sections of camp.
It will be great hear about horse riding in the Blue Hills, provisions for trail repair & cleaning, if any? Have been interested in this for years.
Looking forward to hearing about the plan!
One of our favorite hiking trails!
