RESCHEDULED –Solstice Music on the Farm

Brookwood Community Farm presents the 2024 Music on the Farm series thanks to the Canton Cultural Council. On June 25, celebrate the solstice with jazz on the farm from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. This is a free event!

Feel free to bring your favorite chair, pack a delicious picnic dinner, and unwind as you enjoy an evening at DCR’s Brookwood Farm at the base of the Blue Hills. Parking is primarily on-site, but overflow parking will be available at Trinity Church, 1 Blue Hill River Road, Canton. Carpooling is encouraged!

Jazz bassist John Sullivan attended New England Conservatory in the late 90s and then spent nearly 20 fruitful years in NYC, playing and recording with folks like Roy Haynes, Robert Glasper, and Walter Smith. After John and his family moved to Milton in 2017, he quickly became a first-call bassist on the Boston scene, playing regularly with top Boston bandleaders such as Jerry Bergonzi and George Garzone. He will be joined by longtime collaborator Dan Pappas on keys. Dan performs regularly in Boston and on the South Shore, leading his own band and playing with bandleaders like Jerry Bergonzi, George Garzone and Benny Sharoni.  Together, they explore a broad range of styles and unique harmonic concepts.
